Ramsden’s Cup aka the SFL Challenge League Cup


The First Round of the League Challenge Cup was made last week, at the same time as a new sponsor was announced for the Scottish Football League’s second club cup competition, and the only cup competition in Scotland with a proper sponsor rather than the Scottish Government.

Ramsdens, pawnbroking and financial services, have entered into an initial one year deal with the Scottish Football League.

Previous sponsors of the cup MG ALBA will now become the SFL’s broadcast partner.

And for the first time the SFL have invited two Highland Football League club’s to the competition – Buckie Thistle and Deveronvale.

Montrose v East Fife
Deveronvale v Stirling Albion
Arbroath v Dundee

Airdrie United v Livingston
Partick Thistle v Stenhousemuir
Ayr United v Queen of the South
Stranraer v Morton
Dumbarton v East Stirlingshire
Queen’s Park v Hamilton Academical
Albion Rovers v Annan Athletic

The ties will be played on Saturday 23rd July 2011.
