Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra was watched by two clubs on Saturday against Motherwell in the league. Arsenal sent their scout to Fir Park to watch the Algerian for a third time, while newly crowned Championship winners Queens Park Rangers also sent a scout.
It has been reported in today’s papers that QPR are eyeing up a £1 million swoop for the defender after he rejected a new deal from Rangers to extend his stay beyond next season.
Meanwhile another player who could be heading to the English Premier League is left back Sasa Papac who is on the radar of former Rangers manager Alex McLeish. Papac’s deal runs out this summer with the Ibrox side and could move to England for free, after he rejected a deal with the Ibrox side a number of months back.
And another Turkish outfit have turned their sights on Rangers. After the sale of Kenny Miller to Bursaspor for £400,000 in January, Trabzonspor are reportedly ready to make a £2.5 million move for midfielder Maurice Edu.
The American international has struggled with his form this season, and coming under increasing pressure from some sections of the Rangers support. And at that fee Rangers are reportedly keen on the transfer taking place, and reinvesting the funds in purchasing Craig Conway from Dundee United.
And outgoing Rangers manager Walter Smith is looking to finalise one last deal before he leaves Ibrox in the summer by securing Kyle Bartley’s return to Rangers on a season-long loan deal next season to aid his successor Ally McCoist.
