Rangers set to lose out on Weiss as Espanyol come calling

Rangers are set to lose out on the return of Manchester City winger Vladimir Weiss, after the Slovakian has been lined up for a loan move to La Liga outfit Espanyol next season.

[singlepic id=18 w=320 h=240 float=left]A deal signed in March between the Eastlands club and the Barcelona based side, will see the Slovakian international heading to Spain till the end of the season.

Despite new Rangers manager Ally McCoist being interested in bringing Weiss back on another loan or even a permanent deal, Man City manager Roberto Mancini wants Weiss to be tested in a stronger league than the SPL, before making a decision on his future.

On Tuesday Weiss admitted, “I spoke to Coisty about it on Sunday but I really don’t know if it’s going to happen. I want to stay but it might not be possible. Mancini has told me I need another year out on loan but he also said he wants me to go to a better league than the SPL. They would want me to go to Spain, Italy, Germany or even another club in England. But they definitely want me to go to a decent league.”
