Lokomotiv Moscow set sights on Georgios Samaras

[singlepic id=955 w=320 h=240 float=left]Russian Premier League side Lokomotiv Moscow are reportedly showing interest in signing Celtic striker Georgios Samaras. The Russians have been keeping tabs on the Greek throughout the season and are rumoured to be set to offer Celtic £3 million for his services.

Except for one game against rivals Rangers this season in the New Year, where he scored two goals, Samaras has been poor all season, scoring just seven goals in all competitions.

Lokomotiv manager Yuri Krasnozhan admires Samaras, his speed and his wide play.

Despite signing a new three year deal after the New Year derby win, that contract renewal looks almost certain to be a ploy by the Parkhead club to secure a transfer fee for the Greek, who was set to be out of contract this summer. At £3 million, Celtic should bit the hand off Krasnozhan.
