Hearts have been dealt a blow with the news that striker Kevin Kyle has been ruled out for the rest of the season. The former Killie striker has not played since January when he went off injured in the Hearts Scottish Cup defeat to St.Johnstone.
Despite numerous injections to treat a groin problem and a double hernia operation, he was still struggling to get back to fitness. And he now faces a race against time to be fit in time for Hearts pre-season schedule in the summer.
Jim Jefferies told the club’s official TV channel, “Kevin has had an operation to clean his hip out and we will wait and see when it settles down how long it’s going to take. We tried everything and looked at everything. Fingers crossed he makes a full recovery. Pre-season is the target for him now, whether he makes it or not I don’t know as it’s such a short break. He may miss the early part of it, I don’t know.”
