Celtic fan admits racially abusing Diouf

The Celtic fan who was caught on camera making monkey gestures to Rangers midfielder El Hadji Diouf, metres away from Strathclyde’s finest, has admitted racially abusing the on loan Blackburn player.

Hate-filled scumbag, Sean Smith, handed himself into police after his face was plastered in the News of the World, at an Old Firm match at Celtic Park.

Smith, from Rutherglen, will be sentenced next month, however he has been banned from watching any UK club play at home or abroad, and must sign in at a local police station during the first half of every Celtic game.

The court heard how Smith ran down the steps from his seat to make the gestures towardds Diouf, just five minutes into the match, which took place on February 20th.

Prosecutor Claire Connaghan said, “As he approached the stand to take the corner kick, the accused approached the front of the stand where he commenced making ape-like physical gestures. Witnesses were offended by what they saw as a racial gesture and the matter was reported.”
