Injury blow for Celtic as Majstorovic out for up to 2 months

Celtic have been dealt a blow with the news that defender Daniel Majstorovic could be out for up to two months after picking up an injury in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Hamilton.

The Swedish internationalist was substituted at half time and was replaced by Thomas Rogne, and after the match it was discovered that the defender had fractured a toe on his right foot.

Majstorovic saw a specialist consultant, and the news is that the defender will be out of action fo six to eight weeks.

It is a bitter blow to Celtic’s chances of wrestling the SPL title away from their rivals Rangers, and comes days before the two sides lock horns for the Sixth time this season, in the Co-operative Insurance League Cup.

Thomas Rogne will almost certainly partner Charlie Mulgrew in the heart of the Celtic defence until Majstorovic returns, and while there is cover in Glenn Loovens – Celtic fans would rather see Majstorovic play with a broken toe than see the Dutchman return to the fold after too many poor performances.
