German tourist admits to throwing ‘racist’ banana at Brazil match

Arsenal Football Club have released a statement stating that a German teenager visiting London admitted throwing the banana onto the pitch during the friendly between Brazil and Scotland at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Despite Neymar’s claims that he was racially abused by Scotland fans and that a banana thrown onto the pitch was a racist slur, Metropolitan Police have confirmed that a German tourist threw the banana onto the pitch.

The youngster was sitting in the North Bank of Emirates Stadium, an area of the stadium which was occupied by the official allocation of tickets to Brazil supporters, when he threw the banana onto the pitch during the second half of the match. The Metropolitan Police is satisfied there was no racist intent and have confirmed that no further action will be taken.

This now justifies the statements from the SFA and the Tartan Army slamming the Brazilian youngsters racism allegations. Will he now come out and apologise for slurring the name of the Tartan Army? Will the Brazilian FA apologise on his behalf?
