Bartley leaves Rangers after injury cuts loan deal short

Defender Kyle Bartley has returned to Arsenal from his loan spell with Rangers after he was told that he faces three months out with a medial ligament injury.

The on-loan Arsenal defender clashed with PSV Eindhoven keeper Andreas Isaksson in the closing stages of the 1-0 defeat to the Dutch league leaders at Ibrox, in their Europa League clash last month.

The defender confirmed that he has played his last game for Rangers and has now returned to his parent club.

Bartley told the Scottish Sun, ”I couldn’t have wished for a better club for a loan spell. I’ve been told I’ve got a grade three medial ligament tear and I’m looking at three months out. As things stand I’ve played my last game for Rangers. I wasn’t there too long but I’ve still got plenty of good memories. Who knows what next season will bring. Once I’m fit again I’ll find out what Arsenal have planned for me.”
