Dundee United star David Goodwillie charged with Rape


According to the Scottish Daily Express, Dundee United footballer David Goodwillie has been charged with rape after allegations of serious sexual assault.

The incident is alleged to have happened on Sunday January 2nd this year when a 24-year-old woman said she was raped in Armadale, West Lothian.

The Scotland international has been released on bail, but is due to appear in court at a later date.

A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Police said, “A 21-year-old man has been charged in connection with an alleged serious sexual assault on a 24-year-old woman in Armadale on the 2nd of January. The individual concerned has been released to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court at a later date. Inquiries into the incident are ongoing, and no further comment can be made at this time.”

Team mate David Robertson has not been charged in connection with the incident.

Goodwillie’s agent Jim Harkens tonight said he “knows nothing” about charges and declined to comment.
