Rangers keeper Alexander signs on until 2013

Rangers today announced that Neil Alexander has signed a contract extension onto his current deal that ties him to the Ibrox club until the summer of 2013.

Alexander has played second fiddle to Allan McGregor since he joined the Ibrox club, but he stated that he was never thinking of moving anywhere else.

“We had started to speak about a contract last season but due to the financial situation at the time it was put back a bit as there were more pressing matters and I was happy to wait,” he told the Rangers official website. “So I’m absolutely delighted that we have now got it all signed and sealed now and we can concentrate on the football. I have always said that I am happy at Rangers. As a young boy growing up you look at Rangers as one of the top clubs in the world and I always wanted to play for a club like that. I have worked my whole career to get to a club like Rangers so why would I want to be in a hurry to leave?

“I’m just delighted to be involved in the tremendous successes at Rangers. I hadn’t won a lot before I came to Rangers and now I have won every domestic honour going so it’s fantastic. I am very keen to win more.”
